Is ODP right for you?  Do you believe yourself to have the skill level, time, dedication and most importantly ambition to be the best?

ODP offers an amazing opportunity for those of you who wish to play with the best and at the highest level and represent your State Association.  For many, ODP represents having the possibility of college recruitment and additional playing experience and opportunities. If you answered yes to all of the above questions; we are here to help you achieve success!

Coach Alex Monsalve - Playing in the ODP system since the age of 13 I have gone through all the levels that the system offers, from the state level all the way through the national team pool for consecutive years.  My goal is to help you better understand the process, expectations and demands.  I am here to help you achieve your goals and extend new opportunities.  I will be here to guide you every step of the way and bring out your best; making it impossible for the evaluating staff not to select you.

In order to be an ODP standout there is certain criteria and qualities to consider…

  • Leadership
  • Dedication
  • Ambition
  • Skill level
  • Quick thinking
  • Mistake adjustments

Most importantly when considering ODP ask yourself, “Are you ready to eat, sleep and breathe soccer?”  If you answer is yes then let’s get to it!

The purpose of ODP for the last fourty years is to identify players that might have potential to play for the USA Olympic or US National Teams. We use three primary ways to evaluate players:

1. Training Centers - two hour session on a Sunday afternoon to give an idea of what we look for and the format of our events.  No selections are announced but if someone is identified as a good player, they could receive an invite to the Pool Trainings beginning in December for age groups 2002-2007

2. Scouting - We annually scout league and tournament games if coaches, players or parents can make us aware of when they are, so we can see if staff is available to go and watch those players. If someone is identified as a good player they will be notified via email.

3. Trials/Tryouts - We host these two day trials/tryouts in several locations for our various age groups from 2002-2007 birth years. Typically a Saturday and Sunday event, we will announce the selected players to move onto the Pool Trainings onsite on Sunday.

Once we have completed all our scouting and training centers and trials, we bring those players into our Pool Trainings which will be once a month in December, January and February in various locations.  After the three pool trainings are complete, the coaches will select their ODP State Teams usually by April. Those selected players will then have two training weekends in June to prepare for their Region III (covers all 13 states in the Southeast US) Camp during the month of July. For those players who were not selected to go to the Region III Camp in Alabama, they will have the opportunity to attend our "Florida Camp" in Lakeland to give them additional training and evaluation and feedback.
